Department of Technology and Organization of Hotel and Restaurant Business
General Information
The Department of Technology and Organization of Hotel and Restaurant Business was established in 2008 aiming to provide restaurant staff with highly qualified professionals and meet the needs of service consumers through the introduction of new business concepts, innovative dishes, and new technologies.
The specialists majoring in the speciality 181 «Food Technology» and 241 «Hotel and Restaurant Business» graduate from the Department of Technology and Organization of Hotel and Restaurant Business of Chernivtsi Institute of Trade and Economics of SUTE with the following specializations:
Degree of «Junior Bachelor» full-time form of study

Degree of «Bachelor» full-time and part-time, part-time short-term form of study
- «Food Technology»;
- «Hotel - Restaurant Business».
Degree of «Master» full-time form of study
- «Hotel-restaurant business».

Karina Viktorivna Palamarek, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, is the Head of the Department of Technology and Organization of Hotel and Restaurant Business from 2020 until now.
The mission of the Department is the highly efficient activity of hotel and restaurant facilities in order to provide competitive highly qualified specialists for hotel and restaurant business, with a system of corresponding competencies ensuring the social mobility of specialists and demand in the labour market, in the hotel and restaurant business in Ukraine, namely in the Western region.
Employees of the Department are constantly working to improve their skills, namely, they take an active part in scientific and practical conferences, round tables, and webinars, study the practical experience of the best hotels and restaurants. Currently, professors of the Department are working on research work named «Scientific substantiation and creating wheat flour products using dehydrated protein semi-finished product», which substantiates the development of technological developments aimed at increasing the biological value of flour products.
The main goal of the Department is to meet the growing demand of modern society for the training of highly qualified specialists who have mastered the fundamentals of the hotel and restaurant business, have up-to-date knowledge in diagnosing the competitive environment, monitoring the state and position of hotel and restaurant business in the labour market and have acquired practical skills using analytical disciplines methods (including IT).
