IV Charitable student festival-fair
in culinary arts «Pumpkin festival»
On October 4, 2017, as part of the celebration of the Chernivtsi City Day, IV charity student festival-fair in culinary art "Pumpkin festival" was held in the Central Square in front of the City Hall.
Department of Technology and Restaurant Management of the Faculty of Management, Service and Food Technology of CHITE KNUTE gathers culinary students for the great goal – to demonstrate their own culinary skills and talents, popularization of healthy food, and develop a culture of charity among student youth.
Co-organizers of the holiday were the Department of Economics of Chernivtsi City Council, as well as the Youth and Sports Department of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration. Therefore, there were distinguished guests - representatives of local executive authorities and local self-government, successful restaurateurs, members of the Bukovyna Culinary Guild of the Ukrainian culinary union, practitioners, public figures, heads of higher educational institutions of Bukovyna, representatives of secondary schools, citizens and tourists.
During the fest, 13 teams of young cooks represented various specialized educational institutions of Bukovyna, were able to demonstrate their talents to all those present and to represent their own cooked dishes. In total, 13 teams took part in the festival, which is more than 100 students from the Chernivtsi Institute of Trade and Economics of KNUTE, Chernivtsi Cooperative Economics and Law College, Chernivtsi Higher Commercial School of KNUTE, and Zastavna Higher Professional College No. 24, namely:

- team of the 4th year students of specialty "Food Technologies" - "Pumpkin Family" (team leader - Marusiak Tetiana Mykhailivna);
- team of the 1st and 2nd years students of the specialty «Hotel and Restaurant Business» - «Pump Boom» (team leader - Palamarek Karina Viktorivna);
- team of the 3rd year students of the specialty "Hotel and restaurant business" - "ARB" (team leader - Danyliuk Inna Petrivna);
- team of the 4th year students of the specialty "Hotel and restaurant business" - "Merry pumpkins" (team leader - Revutska Liubov Yakivna);
- team of bartenders of cHITE KNUTE Hackman Oleksii and Babaliuk Victor.
One of the terms for participation in the contest was self-made pungent dishes and the transfer of funds to charity. People say: "One of the most valuable and most nutritious fruits of the gifts of autumn is the pumpkin, which has long been considered a symbol of the owner and the head of the genus. If there is a pumpkin in the house - the family is not threatened by hunger. Today, the pumpkin is appreciated by chefs and confectioners, nutritionists and healers; it's called the best product of autumn, a treasure chest of vitamins, and another miracle berry and "sunny berry." That is why for the thematic festival of culinary art among students of Bukovyna was chosen a pumpkin as a symbol of a strong rich family and wealth.
In general, during the charity festival was raised 10 thousand 500 hryvnia. The whole amount is transferred to the treatment of a 12-year-old pupil of the Storozhynets boarding school Boris Dascaliuk. He is currently in treatment in Turkey.
So, the main goal of the festival has been achieved.
