The Lain Kirkland programme
10.01.18. The lecturer of the Department of Economic Cybernetics and International Economic Relations Bogdana Korophad won the grant and has been participating in the scholarship programmenamed after the Lane Kirkland in Wroclaw and Warsaw (Poland) from September 2017 to June 2018
She shares her impressions of participating in the programme in her letter, which is given below.
“Impressions of the programme are very positive; it is a truly invaluable experience.I have the opportunity to attend lectures at the University of Warsaw at will. They have very good educational infrastructure and approaches to learning. The emphasis is on the original works of scientists, not on textbooks. And even the usual seemingly theoretical disciplines are taught from the practical side, the project approach is used. I have the opportunity to attend lectures by well-known scholars and practitioners, in particular at a lecture at Balcerovich, and I had received his last autographed work. Students are very focused on, libraries are overcrowded. What surprised me: traditionally, during the exam session, the library makes afavor to students and is open until 5 a.m., so everyone can prepare.
The second part of the program is the research work. Everyone here has his own supervisor, who coordinates work on the subject. Besides, there is also a regional coordinator of the programme, and animator, that is, a person who helps with life issues. In January I will speak at the Department with the starting issues of my research.
The program includes acquaintance with the scientific and educational centers of Poland. I visited Wroclaw and Poznan universities, in the next semester I will go to Krakow and Lublin. In addition to universities, I have been visiting various public organizations, local authorities, as well as incredible museums and castles.
I had a practical internship Rzeszow: according to the Rzeszow University, the statistical office of Rzeszow, I spoke to the founders of the cross-border Polish-Ukrainian cluster “Infostat”, and that was especially interesting for me - visited the representation of the Carpathian Euroregion.
In general, it's in short. Everything else are just plans, so I do not write about them yet”.
At the same time, we announce that the Lain Kirkland programme for 2018/19 yearshad been announced, and it was sent to the teaching staff of CHITE KNUTE and to the Departments.
We invite you to participate in the programme. We hope that the current scholarship programmer will not refuse to provide the necessary information for the applicants in the competition.
